Privacy
Last updated 6 November 2026Summary
Good Take has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer collects no data. Your library stays on your iPhone.
On your iPhone
Your Watchlist, the films you’ve seen, your ratings, dates, rewatches and private notes are stored only on your device, and are part of your device’s backups. Nothing is synced to a server. iCloud sync isn’t part of this version; if it’s added, this page changes first.
What the app sends, and to whom
- TMDB (The Movie Database,
api.themoviedb.org): what you type in search, and the TMDB IDs of the films, people and collections the app looks up. That includes the films in your library: when the app opens, it refreshes a few of their details in the background, so they stay current. Posters load from TMDB’s image server (image.tmdb.org). These requests carry no account or personal information; like any web request, they reveal your IP address to TMDB. TMDB’s privacy policy. - Wikidata (
wikidata.org): the identifiers of a film and its directors, to put the directors in their credited order. The Wikimedia Foundation’s privacy policy.
Nothing else. A film’s official website or trailer opens in Safari or YouTube only when you tap it.
Permissions
Photos, add only: used only when you choose Save Image on a share card. Good Take can’t see your photo library.
Sharing and export
A share card or the CSV export leaves the app only through the share sheet, to wherever you send it. Private notes are never on a share card; they are in the CSV, which you create.
Children
Good Take isn’t directed at children under 13, and it collects nothing from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
